Equipment

  • KitchenAid® K400 Blender
  • Two 12-cup nonstick muffin pans
  • Citrus zester
  • Rubber spatula
  • Sharp knife
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • Peanuts 500 grams recommended, but you can adjust as per your needs
  • A pinch of sea salt or Himalayan pink salt for enhanced flavor

Instructions

  • Roasting the Peanuts: Begin by preheating your oven. Spread the peanuts evenly on a baking tray and roast them until they’re golden and aromatic. Once done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes. This step helps in releasing the natural oils of the peanuts, making the blending process smoother.
  • Blending to Perfection: Transfer the cooled peanuts to a food processor. Blend continuously for approximately 15 minutes. Initially, you’ll notice the peanuts turning into a crumbly powder, but as you continue, they’ll start releasing their oils and transform into a creamy paste.
  • Final Touches: Once you’ve achieved the desired consistency, add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor. Give it one final blend to mix the salt in.
  • Storing: Pour your freshly made peanut butter into a clean glass container. Seal it tightly and store in a cool, dry place.

Notes

Homemade peanut butter can be stored for several weeks. Since it doesn’t contain any preservatives, it’s best to check its freshness before use.
