Indulge in a creamy, rich, and chocolaty dessert that's not only delicious but also packed with the goodness of avocados. This Vegan Chocolate Avocado Mousse is a testament to how vegan desserts can be both healthy and decadent.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados peeled and pitted
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk or almond milk
  • Vegan dark chocolate shavings for garnish
  • Fresh berries for garnish

Instructions

  • Preparation: Start by scooping out the flesh of the ripe avocados into a blender or food processor.
  • Blending: Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, salt, and coconut milk to the blender.
  • Mixing: Blend the mixture until it's smooth and creamy. Depending on the consistency you prefer, you can add more coconut milk to make it lighter.
  • Chilling: Transfer the mousse to individual serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
  • Serving: Before serving, garnish with vegan dark chocolate shavings and fresh berries for an added burst of flavor and color.

Notes

The creaminess of the avocado provides the perfect base for this mousse, ensuring a silky-smooth texture without the need for dairy. Plus, it's a great way to sneak in some healthy fats!
